A quick review of some of the projects accomplished by Hitek Solutions, LLC…..
Precision Microswitch Tester built by a client who needed to supply highly precise microswitches for the aeronautical industry. The silver box on the unit is actually a very accurate high-resolution servo. We use this to measure the dead break of the switch. This is the exact point the switch goes from the Normally Open or Closed position to the opposite position.
The PC takes readings directly from the servo unit. It does this in Encoder counts. The motion difference is calculated from a start point (Home Position). The Dead-Break readings are recorded first in the Open to Close position and then the Close to Open position. A comparison of the readings is made. Based on the result a determination is made as to whether or not the switch meets the acceptance criteria. It then will “Flag” the operator if the switch has “Failed” or “Passed”.
This project replaced the existing controls on a pin insertion machine. It allows the attachment of multi conductor plugs to a printed circuit board. The customer wanted a way to store recipes onboard the main controller PC. This enabled operators to simply select the program to run and machine would automatically set itself up.
In this project we were tasked with building a controller for an Industrial router for Fencing (called Stringers). We completely changed out the existing motion system using new stepper motors and drives. We used a Galil Motion Control Unit. The Machine Operator simply typed in the values on the screen. The machine would set itself up and run that program. We also had set up an onboard database for saving different customer recipes.
